Fishing pond Stelleplas
About 200 meters from the lodge, you will find the fishing pond. The Stelleplas is home to carp, bream, pike-perch, eel, and roach.
A challenge for every angler!
Night fishing is also permitted.
To fish in the Stelleplas, a fishing permit and a fishing license are required.
You must obtain the fishing license yourself, while the fishing permit is available at the reception of the Hof van Zeeland park.

Next to the Stelleplas, a barn has been transformed into the modern and cozy Restaurant Brasserie Stelleplas.

When daylight breaks on Sunday, February 1, 1953, the full extent of the disaster becomes visible. "I looked out over an insanely large expanse of water," says an eyewitness. Here and there, roofs, treetops, or a crumbled dike can still be seen. Otherwise, there is only water.
Initially, the water recedes, as the tide goes out again. People use that moment to flee to higher ground. Individual rescue efforts begin. Private individuals go along the houses with boats to pick up people and drop them off at safer places.
Large-scale rescue operations organized from outside the affected area are not yet in progress. Simply because the rest of the Netherlands does not yet know exactly what has happened in southwest Netherlands. It is still unknown that Schouwen-Duiveland, Goeree-Overflakkee, and Tholen are almost entirely submerged.

In the Fossil Mine, you discover the most beautiful fossils in mysteriously lit display cases, and in the Dino Expo, gigantic dinosaurs await you. Children can have a great time in the indoor Kids Jungle, outdoors in the Forest Playground, or in the Splash Garden.
Additionally, Berkenhof Tropical Zoo has been voted the best ANWB outing in Zeeland for several years in a row.
